Yes, "Slava" is short for "Iaroslav."
This is one of the first times I've drawn rocks in my life, but the Crimea is so beautiful I don't care. It reminds me of Italy or Greece, or at least of my image of their coastlines. (Just for the record, those are Caspian Gulls, native to that area. I wanted to put in Black-Backed Gulls, because I've been re-reading Watership Down, and I'm a bigtime Kehaar fan. Anyone else ever read it? So cool.)
And happy Easter to my Orthodox readers! Have a good one. Христос воскрес!

That is one well done landscape! Damn, if you someday draw the Swallow's Nest castle in Yalta, it's gonna look so awesome =)

Happy Easter! Χριστός Ανέστη!

Your rendition of the coast is beautiful.

Have to agree with the other posters, that last frame was done brilliantly.

A nice landscape, indeed! Looking forward to where this goes next. (And for the record, Kehaar is hilarious. My personal favorite is Bigwig, and those two were the best of bros)

Wow. Nice panels here! That's a pretty cool looking coast. Nice sunlight on it, too.

Thanks, everyone! Glad you like it -- seriously fun to draw. @Whiskey: Isn't that such an awesomely weird building? It looks like an illustration from an old-fashioned book of fairy tales or something. The next page doesn't have that yet, but it does have some strange and beautiful buildings. I hope I can do them justice.
@Kobb: I honestly can't decide on a favorite character from that book. I need to take a crack at drawing Kehaar and Bigwig (Peegveeg? :P ) together, even if I'm not so hot at animal character design.

Thanks! The Crimea is really something -- I'm lucky to be able to draw it in this comic.
