May I apologize in sackcloth and ashes and weeping and gnashing of teeth for the tardiness of this update? I went a little crazy doing this short comic for a solid week,
and while it was insanely fun and excellent practice, it kinda made it hard to work on THIS comic.
Also, about the cultural differences, I heard a Russian say that "Americans expect everything to be perfect and are devastated when it's not. Russians [and I guess Ukrainians as well; there are a lot of cultural similarities and shared history] expect everything to be terrible and are delighted if it's not." So, in this case, the American is so much calmer because this isn't really his country, as much as he's gotten attached to it. Yana, on the other hand, can very possibly expect to be stuck with grinding decades of civil war that she didn't ask for and didn't expect. Good times.
