I did the math, and Iaroslav hasn't been on an official military mission without Chekhov (for the most part -- there's been a few) since 1969. That's...almost thirty years.

I haven't read the whole comic yet so I can't comment on the story (I will, though, because it looks great), but I just want to say that the lighting in this page is very effective, especially in that first panel. Nice work.

Thanks very much! I hope you enjoy it. (And yeah, I like drawing Iaroslav in shadows like that a bit too much. :P )

Just a nitpick, it should be "I wish Vlad were here".

The directing in this scene is excellent. The angles make it very cinematic :)

@Barium Sulfate: You're absolutely right -- if Iaroslav's bad grammar is distracting, I should fix it. He's pretty educated, against his will. :P
(By the way, how'd you pick your username? Barium sulfate is used for...drilling for oil, right?)

@Tantz Aerine: Thanks!

I actually picked it about a year ago, when I was a freshman studying chemistry, for no better reason then that all the reasonable names that had something to do with my past/personality were taken. I've learned a lot of interesting facts about barium sulfate; but practically it just gives me an interesting, chemical-related handle. It's also never already chosen as a username, so it lets me be consistent across the interwebs. :)
