A sarcastic priest/monk fellow! I like him already. And I'm sure Yana does too :) Great renderings as always.

He does seem a little like a young Ukrainian version of the gent from Without Moonlight, come to think of it.

You don't picture Greece as Eastern Europe (tm), but it is pretty close...

you don't? That's what we're told we're pictured as. XD Well, Balkan Europe, but that Balkans are regarded as an especially rumbunctious part of Eastern Europe.

It could be because Greece wasn't part of the Soviet bloc? I dunno.

Are all orthodox priests this chill? I'm just starting to detect a trend between you and Tantz's comics. Not that I mind, religion is probably better off chill.

Not ALL. Like, Ieronymos I of Athens was kind of a supporter of a dictatorship, and I've run across some Orthodox twits online, but all of them I've met in person were really chill -- which is something I appreciate in religious people too. The Ecumenical Patriarch seems pretty cool, as well. *shrugs*

It really depends how high you go in the ranks, at least in Greek Orthodox clergy. The average priest up to maybe a patriarch can and often is very, very chill. I knew a couple who were the village trolls and supported the community a lot. But the higher you go in the ranks the less you encounter chill priests.

In Greek Orthodox church, the average priest can legally marry and have kids, too. Only if you go up a couple of ranks is it forbidden. :)

One of these days I'm gonna have to visit my local Orthodox church to see if the folks over there are this cool. I really dig the city scene in the first panel, by the way.

Wear shoes that fit, if you go. :P
Also, it might be a good idea to go to one that's not ethnicity-specific unless you belong to the ethnicity in question. They won't kick you out or anything, but yeah. I can only speak for my country.

Huh. I've never thought about it but I guess one benefit of living in an ethnically homogenous place is not having to worry about that sort of thing.

Yeah, my country/city is pretty hetrogeneous.
