Something to tide her over until she can get better socks.
Trivia of the day -- the Soviet (and until recently, the Russian and Ukrainian) militaries used footwraps instead of socks. Come to think of it, Iaroslav probably isn't using socks...here, have an ancient drawing:

Greek soldiers used footwraps as well! They didn't have socks until the women started knitting them for them in late November 1940.

I guess that means a good chunk of the cast of WM is sadly sockless, since I wanna say their occupiers used footwraps too.

That's correct. XD At least while they were in the army. Right now there are more socks on feet than originally. :P
