This upcoming episode's gonna be all Slava, all the time. Well, mostly. You can also see our reporter there. More on that next page.

In the meantime, World Cup and all, what positions do you think the gang would play? I'm thinking Slava on defense (from what I remember of playing, paradoxically, direct aggression and not caring if you get kicked in the shins is key). Chekhov is all long and kind of a strategic thinker, so maybe goalie? Bohdan is definitely one of nature's strikers, given how well he was able to get from A to B during the battle of Odessa. Yana I'm not sure about.

With the added benefit of being cheaper to make than a movie. :p

The dog would obviously be the magic animal that predicts the outcome of the game.

I see Yana as the goalkeeper, Slava as the team manager (let's face it - he wouldn't last long as a player before receiving a red card, followed by a lifetime ban caused by the violent reaction to said red card) and Chekhov as the referee. Bohdan & friends would be the unruly hooligans, while Bekir would be the dude who runs into the field in the middle of the game. I figure John would be the tragic character who ends up scoring a hattrick... in his own goal. And then has to explain that to our friend Mr. Reporter in the post-game interview.

And Matapang has somehow managed to wrangle free tickets in the guise of doing some kind of academic and/or think tank research on the political significance of soccer, and's wearing a Maryland flag, possibly just to mess with people who keep trying to guess what country that is.
